Bungo Stray Dogs Season 5 is the fifth season of Bungo Stray Dogs anime series based on the manga of the same name created by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Sango Harukawa. It aired on July 12, 2023,[1][2] and it is produced by Bones, directed by Takuya Igarashi, and written by Yoji Enokido. The season is available for streaming on Apple TV and Prime Video.
Synosis[]
Detective employees are caught one after another, and Kamui, the leader of Tenjin Goshui, is closing in on the Armed Detective Agency. Will the Agency survive?!
Production[]
On March 29, 2023, a day after the fourth season's final airdate, the fifth season was announced, and its first trailer was released.[3] The next day, the Bungo Stray Dogs Expo announced that they will hold a special video screening of the fifth season's introductory scene at the said exposition, as well as the season's opening theme with newly added cuts.[4]

The ending theme artist was announced on May 21, 2023, to be Luck Life,[5] who performed all four previous ending themes and for DEAD APPLE.
On June 1, 2023, the fifth season was announced to air on July 12, 2023,[6] and its second trailer was released.[7] On the same day, the opening theme was revealed to be "Tetsu no Ori" to be performed by GRANRODEO, who sang two opening themes and DEAD APPLE's opening theme. The ending theme was also unveiled to be "Kiseki".[8]
Promotion[]
On May 23, 2023, the official Bungo Stray Dogs anime Twitter account began posting a highlight video of each episode beginning with the series' first episode per day leading up to the premiere of the fifth season in July 2023.[9]
On June 2, 2023, the series author Kafka Asagiri was announced to be invited as a guest of honor in Anime Expo 2023 in Los Angeles.[10][11] It was later announced on June 20 that the convention's second day on July 2, will hold a panel with Asagiri, Studio Bones president Masahiko Minami, and Kadokawa producer Chiaki Kurakane, leading to the exclusive debut of the fifth season's world premiere at the panel.[12][13][14]
An opening theme promotional video for the fifth season was released on June 14, 2023.[15]
On June 22, 2023, it was announced that Yūto Uemura, Sumire Morohoshi, and Shōya Chiba—the voice actors of Atsushi Nakajima, Kyōka Izumi, and Sigma, respectively—will hold a cast talk on July 8, 2023, following the screening of the fourth season's finale and an advance screening of the fifth season's first two episodes.[16]
