Wicked Realms Beyond Mankind, Part 2 Section 2 (人外魔境 其の弐 後編, Jingai Makyō Sono Ni Kōhen?) is the second part of Chapter 103 of the Bungo Stray Dogs manga.
Synopsis[]
Atsushi seeks to reason with his captor while President Fukuzawa battles against his oldest friend. But just what led Fukuchi to do all this…?[1]
Summary[]
Teruko releases Atsushi from his binds, voicing out her conflicted views after Fukuchi had told her his real plan that morning and with the prospect of almost torturing someone like him who had genuine intentions of helping out a child. She suggests killing time until Fukuchi achieves his objectives, but Atsushi persuades her to help him stop the terrorism with her sense of justice.
Kicking off the torture bed at Atsushi, Teruko chastises his naïveté for casually talking about justice and challenges him to a battle. However, given her exhaustion with using excessive force lately, she decides to tell him the true objective of Fukuchi and the Decay of the Angel, which she claims will fracture his will and heart; Atsushi agrees to hear her out.
Fukuzawa and Fukuchi draw their blades and commence their fight. Fukuchi is confident in his victory given Fukuzawa’s inability to see the future, but the latter—dodging Amenogozen’s space-severing blade from behind—asserts that he can nonetheless see their shared past spanning over 20 years, therefore being familiar of his childhood friend’s combat skills and nuances.
As Fukuzawa momentarily gains the upper hand with his speed, Fukuchi shields his palm against Fukuchi’s sword and pierces a throwing knife through him, which is amplified by his ability. Deeming Fukuzawa unaware of what his former comrade has become, Fukuchi tells Fukuzawa that he is now a different person changed by the battlefield. As such, they are no longer who they were in the past, which all began years ago when a young Fukuzawa encountered a young Fukuchi storming into his dojo.
