Chapter 2 is the second chapter of the Bungo Stray Dogs (Vertical Comic).

Summary

Dazai asks Atsushi's name.

The man calls out to his colleague, Kunikida. Kunikida becomes irritated to his colleague for ruining his plans. The mans then suggests to Atsushi to have his colleague treat them to a meal while his colleague tries to call out for him. The man then asks Atsushi's name. After learning Atsushi's name, the man asks him what kind of food he crave. Atsushi replies that some chazuke would be nice. The man simpy laughs at his craving and tells to let Kunikida treat him to thirty bowls. Meanwhile, Kunikida shouts from afar telling the man whose name is Dazai to stop being generous with his money. Dazai then properly introduces himself to Atsushi.

At a restaurant, Atsushi is seen gobling down bowls of chazuke. Kunikida, on the other hand, tells Dazai that they need to return to their work and tells Dazai off for ruining his schedule.

Atsushi becomes terrified after hearing about the beast.

After a while, Atsushi finishes up eating. He gives his thanks to the two for saving him when he thought he will die after being kicked out from his orphanage. Atsushi reveals that he has been kicked out because of the orphanage's lack of funding and downsize to which Dazai describes it as a hearless orphanage. Atsushi then asks the two what kind of work they do. Dazai tells that they are detectives, belonging to an organization named Armed Detective Agency. Atsushi proceeds to ask them what kind of case they are working on. Kunikida replies that they are currently seeking for a tiger. Hearing this, Atsushi falls from his seat and tries to leave. He tells that he can's stay there and no one can defeat the tiger to which Kunikida asks him if he knows about it.
