Background[]
Untold Origins Arc[]
Egawa greets Yukichi Fukuzawa upon his arrival at the theater. Ms. Egawa then leads Fukuzawa to the scene of the crime before the play starts and takes out a printed sheet of paper that contains a death threat with the message "An angel shall bring death, in the truest sense of the word, to the performer. -V.", which was sent to her office a few days ago. Irritated about the death threat and even claims that it is ridiculous, saying it's one of the rival theaters trying to hurt the business, she is shocked to hear Ranpo Edogawa's statement calling her old. She then asks Fukuzawa who the child is, to which Fukuzawa replies that he is there to look for a job. Egawa then stares at Ranpo and notes to send his resume, and they'll examine it along with other candidates.
Hearing that there are others who want to work at the theater, Ranpo urges her to make up her mind right at that moment. Egawa gives Ranpo a piece of advice and tells him good manners are a must in the adult world. Ranpo begins to look annoyed and tells her that the "adult world" makes no sense to him and that instead of hiding how they really feel, they should just say what they feel. Ranpo then begins to "deduce" Egawa, including that she really doesn't want to become a theater owner, she does not trust the police, the bodyguard, or anyone who works at the theater, the necklace she is wearing is not a gift, but she bought it herself and more. Fukuzawa stops Ranpo and asks if he could ask some of the workers questions. Egawa, trying not to sound flustered, tells Fukuzawa to do his job, claims that she likes what she does, and proceeds to leave while stomping at the theater hallway.
After the play's lead actor, Tokio Murakami, dies and a commotion at the theater occurs, she runs to Fukuzawa and tells her that it is about Ranpo and that he has a message for him. She then heads to the theater's control room. Before relaying Ranpo's message, she asks Fukuzawa about Ranpo and how he learned about her. She then relays Ranpo's message and tells Fukuzawa that two people are behind the incident, and Ranpo asks her to help lure the killers out. After giving Ranpo's message, Fukuzawa asks her where Ranpo is. Egawa states that he gave the message a few moments ago and tells Fukuzawa Ranpo's message to go back to his seat in the theater, and the angel will do everything.
Egawa, still curious about Ranpo, asks Fukuzawa about him and even tells him that Ranpo told her that he was an ability user and a great detective. Egawa then claims that either way, she believes that he's a master great detective and becomes his fan. Egawa then gives Ranpo's last message not to worry about him, and he will solve the case.
Fukuzawa then hurries to his heat, and the lights go out. Ranpo is seen on the stage with a bright light lit up at the center of the stage. Fukuzawa looks back at the window at the top of the auditorium. Egawa smiles and gives a thumbs-up, on the other side of the dimly lit window before the control panel.
After Murakami's "death" case has been solved, Fukuzawa discusses the incident's aftermath with Egawa.
