Synopsis
Dazai Osamu and Nakahara Chuuya are attacked by GSS soldiers in the middle of investigating an explosion caused years ago by Arahabaki.
Summary
Chūya and Dazai go to speak to a Mafia Executive, Rando; The only witness to an explosion similar to Arahabaki's and assumed to be made by the Predecessor. Rando gives detailed information about the beast-like entity he saw, which allows Dazai to infer who the culprit behind the rumors is. Dazai and Chūya go to an arcade, where they accidentally come across members of the Sheep, who are shocked to see Chūya working with a Port Mafia agent, even if only temporarily. They then decide to have a bet on who can find the culprit first. Dazai later confronts Randou as the culprit, as his description of the explosion matches details that would have been there in the past, but could not be there in the present; Randou was present for the first Arahabaki explosion that formed Suribachi city. Chūya arrives having deduced the same, but from different facts; Every other witness saw the Predecessor, but only Rando saw a beast-like entity; The true Arahabaki. Randou reveals that he started these rumors to find it. Chūya then reveals that he is Arahabaki.
