My Ill Deeds Are the Work of God (咎与うるは神の業, Toga Atae uru wa kami no gō?) is the 29th episode of Bungo Stray Dogs anime series. It first aired on May 3, 2019.
Synopsis[]
Fyodor Dostoevsky finally steps out of the shadows as Ace, a Port Mafia executive, tries to lure Fyodor into joining his army of slaves.
Summary[]
A young man is seen tied up in a cell. After the capture, a child removes the cloth on his head and reveals the man's identity.
At the Port Mafia base, Ace tells Mori that he has captured Fyodor Dostoevsky, the man behind the destruction of Moby Dick. Ace asks for Mori's approval to handle Fyodor himself, which the latter approves. Upon Ace leaving, Kōyō asks Mori if it's okay to let Ace handle it, to which Mori responds to see what he can do.
In the underground cell, Ace approaches Fyodor and frees him from his restraints, and orders his workers to take care of Fyodor. In a room, Fyodor and Ace are seen playing cards. Ace introduces himself and asks to recruit Fyodor to be under his unit to take down Mori. Fyodor retaliates what will happen if he refuses and proposes to kill Ace instead. In response, Ace attacks Fyodor with a wine bottle and shows his ability to him. Ace leaves, leaving Fyodor to decide his fate when he comes back.
Ace's subordinate approaches Fyodor to give it up, and he cannot win against Ace - being a slave himself. The subordinate even shares his dream with Fyodor of becoming a leader of the Port Mafia while drying Fyodor's hair. The subordinate asks Fyodor if he is not scared, to which Fyodor responds that he isn't and shares information about his ability.
Fyodor proposes an idea to Ace through a card game - if Fyodor wins, he'll take his freedom, but if Ace wins, Fyodor will wear the collar. The game starts with Ace specifying the game's rules. The two play the card game, resulting in Fyodor's win over Ace. Due to the irritation of losing, Ace bursts out in anger and asks his subordinates to kill Fyodor but fails to do so.
Fyodor continues to provoke Ace - he has the upper hand now. Ace reveals that he had been listening to Fyodor's conversation and learns about Fyodor's ability to enclose someone in his mind and consciousness. With this conclusion and trying to escape from Fyodor's consciousness, Ace grabs a light lamp and kills himself - with the thought of waking up and escaping Fyodor's ability.
Ace's subordinate is seen walking when he encounters Fyodor in the hallway - much to his shock and surprise. He begins to ask Fyodor where he is. Fyodor reveals that he purposely likes his ability and opens the vault full of gems to obtain Ace's compiled data of Port Mafia's ability users. After realizing Fyodor's statement, Karma rushes to the door only to see Ace dead and hanging from the ceiling.
Fyodor reveals his simple methods of winning against Ace, leading to Ace's demise. Fyodor reveals he purposely get abducted to obtain the list of Port Mafia's ability users. Unable to move out of fear, the subordinate dies in Fyodor's hands.
