The Old Ravine Cathedral / Noon / Sunny ② (山間の旧礼拝堂/正午/晴天 ②, Sankan no Kyū Raihaidō / Shōgo / Seiten ②?) is the second part of the 1st chapter of the Bungo Stray Dogs Gaiden manga.
Summary[]
Ayatsuji tells Tsujimura that the man running away is the criminal. Tsujimura then kicks and punches the criminal and eventually restrains him. She then starts to state the Miranda warning to the criminal. Ayatsuji then tells Tsujimura that she likes using those quotes, however, Tsujimura tells that it is their right. Tsujimura then gives warning to Ayatsuji that him running alone will be reported to the higher-ups and they cannot continue to ignore the warning and execute criminals, it is the job of the Special Division for Unusual Powers.
Ayatsuji then refutes and says that the division is the one who entrusted the case to him. He also says that he just followed the command of the military and gathered the people to solve the case. He also further explains that the case is a race against time as the teacher has still a list of people he wants to kill and tells that if the Special Division thinks of him as a pet dog, he should be praised since he solves the case.
The criminal then shouts and asks why he was caught, he then tells that the children make a fool out of him every day and until he makes them see the world, he won't let himself be caught. Ayatsuji then orders Tsujimura to release the man since escaping is unnecessary. The criminal then escapes from Tsujimura's restrain and began to run towards the door. While running away, he still cannot believe he was caught since someone told him that he won't be captured. Just as he was about to reach the door, a cathedral window starts to break and the glass fell off right above the criminal's head causing his body to be split in half. The people inside the cathedral were shocked. Ayatsuji then tells that death was a natural occurrence and it is an inevitable phenomenon and every culprit he finds guilty will 100%- to which Tsujimura continues that they will die accidentally somehow or another and describes Ayatsuji as the detective who murders his culprits.
