James L. (ジェームズL.,, Jēmuzu L.^?) was a member of the Guild and served as their senior secretary.

Appearance

James was a tall man with dark gray eyes and a slightly pointed nose. He had hazel hair that reached his nape and tucked behind his ears, where his bangs are slightly swept to the right above his forehead. He wore a white collared shirt adorned with a white cravat and a black vest, over which he donned a dark green, collared tailcoat with white accents. Additionally, he wore gray pants which were tucked into a pair of black knee-high boots.

Personality

As the senior secretary of Fitzgerald, he seems to have a very composed nature and speaks in a very polite manner. He also seemed to be one of the Guild members who is trusted by Fitzgerald, considering that he handled the briefcase with money with the meeting with Yukichi Fukuzawa.

Plot

When the Guild arrives at Yokohama, together with Lucy, James accompanied Fitzgerald to a transaction related to the possession of a permit and brought the business negotiation money to the Armed Detective Agency. After the failed negotiation, the three left.

Later on, he tried to attack the Port Mafia but was killed. While Margaret and Hawthorne escape from the S.S. Zelda, they encounter James's body filled with lemon bombs as a trap set by Motojiro.
