It would look like this. I did #8B0707 because that is the color on the wiki navigation, but it can be any color. I would recommend installing the PortableCSSPad in either your global JS page or your local JS page.
It would then appear as a tool in your bottom toolbar. You may navigate to an article page with an image on it, and add in the above CSS, tweaking the color and border size until you find something you like. If you also have a different idea for a border, or have seen another one you would like to mimic, let me know. :)
Also, did you change your mind on the infobox per Thread:8071?
The tabs are good! Though I would like the infobox style be the same as the current. Also regarding the border, would it be okay to include the captions inside the box? I'm learning codes because of this hahaha
Would you have any specifications as what you would like mimicked in the current infobox versus the one in my sandbox? The thing that sticks out to me as different would be the left column of labels being contained in a grey box. Would that be what you are referring to, or is there more?
For captions inside the box, yes that should be possible. Asked a friend and will get that CSS for you hopefully later today!
Oh, regarding the infobox, basically I would just like the tabbers change but the style of infobox should stay the same. Is it possible? As much as possible, I do not want to change the style of the infobox.
Hi Jadium, I would just like to point out how to remove the borders for the images only, when i added the code, all the images seem to have borders with them. Here is an example. And the images in the infoboxes have borders. Thank you!
I was able to have Stygies VIII (another Wiki Manager) help with the CSS regarding your infobox. Here is what it currently looks like. Would this be close enough to the current non-PI infobox, and would you like it updated here? If there is something you aren't comfortable with about it, it's fine to voice it.
For the image border appearing everywhere, sorry about that! I've poked for a tweak and should have a fix later today hopefully.
Hi Jadium , I notice you changed the categories for image categories. I would just like make little changes like the category for character profiles and character design sheets , can you maybe revert it back to the category: Bungo Stray Dogs images for easier navigation and reserve the category of images of characters for characters only? Thank you!
Sure! Just for the character profiles and design sheets? Those are restored back under Bungo Stray Dog images. If there is something else you aren't comfortable with, you are definitely free to revert it. Thanks for the heads up and if something else is out of place I'll correct it. :)
For Special:Forum, was the migration already done here in the past? Most wikis should of had their forum converted to discussions by now. I believe only a handful are still using the forums.
I'm not sure there is a way to reverse it back to forum, but I can ask around and see.
Thank Jadium! I will keep that in mind for now. I would like to ask if you know how to change the style of the tabber in a way that it doesnt contains lines around it? so that if we get to make a tabber inside a tabber it won't contain the borders and just switches off to the tabs?
Yes, that should be possible via CSS. I've poked for a solution to that and likely will have that to apply in a day or two. I assume no particular style other than hiding the lines and having a "flowing" tabber to match the infobox?
Alright, back again. When you say "make a tabber inside a tabber" may I double check in what you were meaning with that? Nested tabbers are discouraged due to negative influence on design, UX, SEO and readers. An alternative would be converting to PI and using <panel>
The example of this in action would be here. Would this be something you would be willing to do? <panel> is the supported way of having it like tabbers, but with it being more friendly.
oh for the tabber inside a tabber, it's just mostly for images for the infobox , I am still thinking whether for example top tabs are anime manga then for each tab for example dazai, fifteen, current. I don't know if I explained it clearly T^T but if those are discouraged, then it's okay
Jadium wrote: Yes, that should be possible via CSS. I've poked for a solution to that and likely will have that to apply in a day or two. I assume no particular style other than hiding the lines and having a "flowing" tabber to match the infobox?
oh thank you , yes I don't have any particular style regarding the tabbers :) feel free to make changes that will suit the infobox
Currently playing around an infobox as seen on my sandbox page. Still has some tweaks but letting you know to get an overall idea on how it may look. If you don't like something about it, or have a specific style preference let me know!
One important aspect is that it's a portable infobox which is a huuggge pro.
Hello! Yes, it is certainly possible. I'll have to run this by our team lead to see if we could do a small revitalization assignment here. What type of work are you wanting, and do you have an idea of how big?
I know you also needed help with file organization and renaming, so I believe we should make this a focused task to get that resolved.
yes!! we certainly need some revitalization here! Hmm so far this is what's on my mind
> Renaming images > Image Galleries > File Description (regarding this, every image should have a file desc like > Deleting duplicate, unused and low resolution images
I actually want to change some categories like for example there are armed detective company members while there is the decay of angels (it is somehow inconsistent since the other org category has "members" on it while the others have not.)
So far the images are in proper categories. Other images just needs to be categorized and file desc to be added.
> CHAPTERS/ EPISODES
Categories include: Chapters, *Volume # Chapters, (Arc which the chapter is)
I'm taking care of this so I think I can handle this :D
3. Character Pages
> Updating character information (I've added tabs for synopsis and relationships since I think it needs a sperate page other than the overview and image gallery)
> Referencing information : I've added a reference template to make it easer to reference info. Here is the template format for a chapter ref anime ref , novel ref , movie ref volume ref
All right, that is quite the short list indeed haha. I'll ask for more clarification on the following...
1. Does every image (currently 1,015) need renamed on the wiki, or are they certain ones you know need renamed? What type of description are you wanting on the images from there? What needs done with the image galleries?
2. As far as tabs, I would have to recommend to avoid those as they actually harm SEO. Big pages with a lot of content is better. You can see the Goku page for a visual example. Up to you if you want to use tabs, but it does have a negative effect with search engines.
3. The reference template looks good, what would you like done with it from there? There will be some limitations as far as overall knowledge on the series, so I would be honest and say I wouldn't know what needs a reference, and what is the reference to source haha.
1. For the meantime, main task is to have organized image galleries for every character. So the format would be like :
Categories:(these are the categories for now)
a. Manga (anything manga related, design sheet, scenes, including cover, colored spreads)
b. Anime (anything anime related, design sheet, scenes including OVA)
d. Light Novels (covers, colored spreads, etc)
e. Miscellaneous (album cover, song albums, anthology, soundtrack etc.)
Note: I actually arranged the image gallery of Atsushi for reference.
For the renaming, just rename the photos that would be included in the image galleries.
For the file description, you can look at this (the summary), basically together with AllAlonginGlass, we're putting fair use templates on images. The ones that needs adding for now is the chapters. :D
2. I just think that one whole page for everything is too overwhelming. I also think that the advantage for example the synopsis tab, it would be much easier to navigate through the arcs since it will show the contents at the very top.
3. Oh, regarding this, I'll just be the one to handle this. :D
Hi Jadium! Thank you for replying! We are actually in need of help since we're organizing the wiki and there's a lot of stuff to do whew. Can you maybe add categories and file information to the recent images uploaded if you have time? (only pngs) or maybe delete the chapter images that are jpgs, I will be replacing them with pngs and raws. Btw I've added categories on the category page you've created last time. Here is the link
Thank you so much and any kind of help is much appreciated! :D
I actually browse the images of the wiki and there are many duplicate files or files which aren't used in pages or have poor file names. In the case of jpgs used in articles, just leave them be :D Just rename it for proper file names for better organization. Regarding the jpgs to pngs, I'm actually replacing those that are doable and low-resolution pics.
Would you mind actually taking care of image galleries? TT. There are so many images of characters in the category page that aren't in character's image galleries. I am actually thinking how to organize the photos in image galleries. For example, there is the manga part, anime part, sketches (for the author's sketches), merch, and covers (like volume covers etc.) . What do you think?
I apologize if it seems too much TT. But any help is appreciated :D
Also regarding the file names just rename it and update without leaving a redirect because I added the updating file links in the Media wiki JS. I'm actualy avoiding to have redirects as much as possible. Hope this helps! Again thank you so much Jadium!
For unused files, you can look at Special:Unusedimages if you wanted to delete a bunch in bulk. Favicon.ico shouldn't be deleted though, even though it shows as unused. Not sure why that has to appear that way.
I can compile a list of JPG's as I go if you would like that given to you. Is there a current process for file naming, that you would like followed?
Organizing images with a clear layout will always be better so I would agree with that :)
It would be tedious if you want a specific order to how they are arranged. Otherwise if you want them ordered based on it's origin (without a specific order) then it would be pretty straightforward.
