The Orphanage (孤児院, Kojiin?) is where Atsushi grew up.

Upon Ōgai Mori's succession as the director of the orphanage, the exterior and interior of the orphanage changed. The bars on the window and chains on the wall used to restrain patients are gone which are replaced by bookshelves and medical appliances.[1]
