The Guild Aftermath Arc (
Synopsis[]
After the Guild war, the Armed Detective Agency went to back to their daily tasks of doing client jobs. Meanwhile, the Port Mafia captured a man named Fyodor Dostoevsky. On the other hand, Louisa May Alcott looks for Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald in attempt to persuade him in going back to the Guild.
Summary[]
Zoopark Confrontation[]
After the Guild war, the agency members are seen taking a break at a café. Atsushi approaches them for a client request but of all them passes on the request. Atsushi reports that after the Guild's defeat, many foreign gangs have entered the country aiming to seize its assets to which Ranpo also shares that he saw an ex-Guild member on the street yesterday.
The next day, the agency members see the café ransacked and store manager bleeding telling that some strangers came in demanding to see the agency. Soon after, the agency finds Zoopark, the group responsible for the ransack and confronts them.
It is then revealed that Lucy Maud Montgomery is currently working as part-time staff at the café.[1]
Orphanage Director Accident[]
Atsushi arrives at the murder scene in replace for Ranpo. Tanizaki briefs him about the investigation. Tanizaki shows him about the illegal handgun and torn magazine article the victim had. Atsushi shares what Ranpo had told him if he runs into trouble which is to look for the flower shop. After a while, Tanizaki updates Atsushi that they have an I.D of the victim based on his prints and it reveals to be the orphanage director.
Shocked by what he learned, Atsushi screams. Tanizaki consoles Atsushi and reeals that the director has been looking for Atsushi. The two still tries to figure out why the director has been waiting for someone and decides to ask Dazai if he knows something.
Atsushi meets the informant which turns out to be Akutagawa and he reveals that a Port Mafia armorer was supposed to buy the gun from him and gives the director's history file. Atsushi learns about the director's past. Atsushi overlooks the director's funeral from afar. After the investigation, Dazai approaches Atsushi and tells him that the director must have wanted to buy flowers for Atsushi after learning his accomplishment after the Guild war.[2]
Shōsaku Katsura's Revenge[]
Kunikida is on his way to an anti-terror meeting with the M.P. staff. Upon arriving at the train station, Kunikida is contacted by Dazai about a visitor for Kunikida who makes his notebooks, Master Carlyle. However, Kunikida is unable to visit him due to his schedule. Upon boarding a train, he sees a stranger giving a case to a young girl. He remembers about Tanizaki's report that someone has been giving cases that contain bombs. Kunikida rushes to the young girl and steals the case which turns out contains bombs. He then throws it to the air and immediately contacts the relief and forensics team.
Kunikida immediately asks the young girl if she is okay whose name is Aya. Aya drags Kunikida to the investigation. While investigating, Kunikida finds a bomb stapped on the train railway. Upon turning back, he sees Aya strapped with bombs and is threatened by a hooded man who knocks out Kunikida.
After waking up, Kunikida sees the culprit to be Shōsaku Katsura, the man whom Kunikida arrested two years ago for trying to blow up a school with refined illegal explosives. Katsura confronts Kunikida. Kunikida manages to trick Katsura in opening his book, hence remotely manifesting a stun grenade, causing for Kunikida to be able to restrain Katsura. Katsura reveals that the shutoff signal for the bombs for both train railways and the one strapped to Aya is the same. Kunikida shuts off the bomb at the train railway and sacrifices himself together with Aya.
After the explosion, Katsura sees Kunikida and Aya unharmed, which turns out that Akiko Yosano heal them and Kunikida knowing that Yosano is near the station at that time. Soon after, Katsura is arrested. It is revealed that the next president after Fukuzawa will be Kunikida.[3]
Katai Tayama's Introduction[]
Kunikida and Atsushi are on their way to meet a former agency member to help them in their investigation regarding Moby Dick's control device. The member reveals to be Katai Tayama however he can't use his ability due to him being lovesick. Kunikida and Atsushi decide to help him cofess his feelings in order for their investigation to proceed.
Meanwhile, Higuchi is seen driving when he notices Akutagawa on his day-off. She sees a woman approach Akutagawa much to Higuchi's shock.
Atsushi and Kunikida are seen looking for the woman when Higuchi sees both of them from afar. Short after, Kunikida and Atsushi find Higuchi thanks to Atsushi's tiger ability. After learning that the agency is looking for the woman for a confession, Higuchi expresses her support. Katai soon joins them in their investigation. The four of them finds the woman. Both and Katai chase after the woman, who is later revealed to be Gin Akutagawa. Katai proceeds to give his confession letter even knowing that the woman is a mafia member. However, Katai is rejected giving him a time to move on from his unrequited love and fulfill the task for the agency.[4]
Fyodor's Capture[]
Port Mafia captures Fyodor specifically by a mafia executive named Ace. Ace has taken the initiative to deal with Fyodor to which Mori gives his approval.
Ace approaches the captured Fyodor and frees him from his shackles. He orders his subordinates to attend to Fyodor. Short after, Ace offers Fyodor to team up with him in order to take Mori's head. However, Fyodor proposes to kill instead which led to Ace breaking a wine bottle on Fyodor's head and shows his ability. He leaves the room with a warning to Fyodor about choosing his choice to live or not.
Soon after, Ace arrives back at the room. Fyodor proposes a contest in order to decide his fate through a card game - the condition being that if Fyodor wins, he regains his freedom otherwise he will be Ace's slave. The two start the game which results to Ace's defeat. After losing, Ace immediately tries to contact his subordinates to kill Fyodor but is unable to do so. Ace reveals that he knows Fyodor's ability to manipulate consciousness and space hence the two being in Fyodor's consciousness and the cause of Fyodor winning. Soon after, Ace makes his action to escape the space by killing himself.
Karma encounters Fyodor at the hallway much to the former's shock and fear. Fyodor reveals that he purposely slip false information about his ability and his true goal for being captured is to obtain the list of Port Mafia ability users Ace gathered. He then kills Karma and leaves. [5]
Kyōka Izumi's Past[]
At the café, Lucy gives a request handed to her by stranger to Atsushi and Kyōka. Atsushi and Kyōka proceed to take on the case which is to take a case filled with money to a certain company which has been stashed in one of the boats docked. It reveals that Lucy have taken the last page which contains information about the boat. Lucy teases Atsushi and shows the last page and throws it off to the water. However, Atsushi is caught by old mooring chains causing Lucy to save him.
Meanwhile, a Special Division for Unusual Powers transport van was attacked and stole Document No. I-75-81-A which is the report on the "Thirty-Five Count Murderess". Lucy, Atsushi, and Kyōka eventually got to the right boat and finds the case which contains an investigation report and congratulatory message for Kyōka. The report reveals about the truth behind the death of Kyōka's parents who were killed by a vengeful ability user and their death was revealed as an incident caused by an ability that "gone out of control".
Eventually, Kyōka learned that Demon Snow didn't kill her parents and it was originally her mother's ability who transferred it to her. It is revealed that Kōyō is the one who stole the investigation report. [6]
Birth of New Guild[]
Louisa May is seen at Suribachi City looking for Fitzgerald. She eventually finds him wearing ragged clothes and asks him to give her orders once again. However, Fitzgerald refuses her offer tekking that his foolishness led him to where he is now and tells Louisa May to go find some boss elsewhere.
After being rejected on her offer, Louisa May bumps into the group Zoopark who eventually threatens her to spill some information on the Guild's fortunes and the location of their leader. Louisa May refuse to speak and was threatened by the group's leader who goes by the name Thumbnail. Fitzgerald interecepts and fights the Zoopark with Louisa May's fortune.
After gaining back his power, Fitzgerald and Louisa plans for their next plan of action and establishes a New Guild. Steinbeck is seen spying on the two and learning the birth of a new Guild and vows to crush him.[7]
Louisa May and Fitzgerald settle down on their new HQ, a room in the Wonderful Manor. Louisa May comes with strategy reports in order to get the fifty billion needed in otder to purchase the Special Divsision in order to obtain the book. Fitzgerald approaches a man named T. J. Eckleburg and proposes a deal to clear his name from killing his coworker in exchange for giving Fitzgerald the code for his I.D. system, the Eyes of God.
Fitzgerald also proposes a deal to the president of the company where Ecklebrug works to clear Eckleburg's murder in exchange for 100,000. However, the president refuses telling that they can just let him go. After the failed negotiation, Fitzgerald orders Louisa May to investigate the case. Eventually with Poe asking for Ranpo's help, it reveals that the president is the one who killed the coworker.
After Eckleburg's trial session break, Fitzgerald approaches Buchanan and reveals his crime in installing backdoor to the Eyes of God system without Eckleburg's knowledge. Fitzgerald then demands 500.000 dollars in exchange for forgetting about the crime. Buchanan writes him a cheque. In the middle of the trial, Fitzgerald barges in and reveals a recording of Buchanan giving Fitzgerald cheque in exchange for keeping his mouth shut.
Eventually, Buchanan confronts Fitzgerald. After the reveal, Fitzgerald reveals that he have sold Buchanan's stocks for 400 million causing Buchanan's company wealth to plummet down. Soon after, Buchanan is arrested. Fitzgerald reveals to have bought the company before its stock bottomed out, stating that he has security income, mercenary paws and the Eyes of God - all of which will serve as weapons for the once their hunt for the "Book" begins.
