Tsurumi River (鶴見川, Tsurumigawa?) is where Atsushi finds himself starving in Yokohama.[1][2]
Plot[]
After leaving the orphanage, Atsushi is wandering along the Tsurumi river when he finds himself being followed by a tiger beast.[2]
Port Mafia Arc[]
Atsushi jumps off to save a drowning man.
Atsushi finds himself starving at the riverbank when he stumbles upon a man drowning in the river. He soon dives in and rescues the man. The man soon wakes up and reveals that he is committing suicide using asphyxiation and intends to commit a clean and pure suicide however Atsushi is somehow entangled with it. As a result, the man offers a compensation for the encounter. Atsushi reveals that he hadn't eat anything in several days. On the other side of the river, another man whose name is Kunikida calls out to his colleague. The man states that he will have his colleague treat them and asks Atsushi's name to which Atsushi respond. The man then asks Atsushi what kind of food he is craving and Atsushi replies with chazuke. The man then introduces himself as Osamu Dazai.[2]
