Summary[]

Fight against Fukuchi Aftermath[]

Although Akutagawa and Atsushi failed to defeat Fukuchi, Akutagawa's sacrifice allowed Atsushi to escape using a submersible, to be rescued by Ango shortly after. Hit by a stroke of indecision, due to the sudden arrival of several guards to the scene, Fukuchi is thus unable to pursue Atsushi without blowing his cover, and instead orders the men to track the fleeing submersible [1].

Bram Stoker's Appearance[]

After the guards leave the scene, Fukuchi brings out a coffin and lets out the last and fifth member of the Decay of the Angel, Bram Stoker. With Fukuchi's threat to sear the Holy Sword Soluz Levni attached to Bram into his brain, Bram obeys Fukuchi and bites into Akutagawa, eventually turning him into a vampire.

After Akutagawa turns into a vampire, a vampire outbreak begins to spread, turning some of the Port Mafia's mafiosi to vampires. As a witness of the said event, Tachihara reports to his fellow Hunting Dogs members, giving them the idea that the Armed Detective Agency is behind it. On the other hand, Tachihara stands his ground, telling them to re-evaluate their investigation on the Agency as the true culprits as he believes there truly is a real mastermind behind the course of events recently happening.[1]

Fukuchi vs. Tachihara[]

Fukuchi fight to Tachihara

Fukuchi fight to Tachihara

Mori discovers Tachihara's double-agent status and orders him to destroy the enemy. Tachihara proposes a contingency plan using a flash drive, but Fukuchi declines. Tachihara implants a tracking device in the flash drive and warns Fukuchi of his downfall.[2]

Tachihara engages in a fight with Fukuchi's Shintō Amenogozen, and then disarming him and stealing the weapon. Despite Fukuchi's physical strength, Tachihara uses his ability to send glass shards through his blood vessels, making him retreat. Fukuchi blinds Tachihara, and he urges Fukuchi to kill him. Tachihara learns about the Decay of the Angel's goal to bring death to politicians and control half of the world's nations through Bram's ability. Tachihara ends up turning into a vampire.[3][4]

Agency's Assembly[]

Fukuzawa initiates the Agency meeting

Fukuzawa initiates the Agency meeting

With majority of the Agency's main forces gathered together in Poe's novel, Ranpo briefs them that the Decay of the Angel have finally launched their last stage of their plan by spreading infectious vampires throughout the world using Bram's ability, which has finally sunken 16 armies. As the vampires easily slip into the ranks of soldiers who do not know who is or isn't a vampire, it has caused friendly fires out of suspicion and fear. Tanizaki assumes that the enemies' objective is to cause chaos around the world, but Ranpo corrects him that their true aim is "One Order": a mind-controlling ability weapon created during the Great War and one of the three great disasters sealed away.

Both Ranpo and Fukuzawa explain what One Order is and how the government feared the idea of a corrupt dictator using it to overthrow a country, resulting in them sealing it away. With a weapon as dangerous as that in Fukuchi's hands, he would have full control over his subordinates in the Army of Mankind—in other words, the entire world. As such, Ranpo deduces the Decay of the Angel's final objective to be world domination. Within 20 hours, Fukuchi will receive One Order at the airport, so Ranpo readies them to avert it at all costs and prepares to explain his strategy.[5]

Fukuchi vs. Jōno[]

With the Draculea spreading throughout the world at a rapid rate, the Hunting Dogs head to the airport to claim One Order as approved by the United Nations. Fukuchi shows up after them and asks Jōno if he can talk to him in private. The two of them enter an empty room and Fukuchi shows Bram to Jōno and reveals that he is the one behind the terrorism.[6] Fukuchi tells Jōno that he is quite special and has the potential of becoming part of the Decay of the Angel, hence why he recruited him to be a Hunting Dog. Specifically, he asks Jōno to dispose of the Agency to prevent them from killing Bram. Jōno soon accepts Fukuchi's offer in joining him. However, as soon as Fukuchi turns his back to lead the way, Jōno withdraws his sword and slashes Fukuchi from behind.[7] Fukuchi retaliates by summoning Amenogozen and cuts to the past before Jōno slashes him from behind.[8]

Jōno uses his disintegration ability to attempt multiple escapes but is stopped by not just Fukuchi but undead Akutagawa. Akutagawa restrains Jōno and bites him on the shoulder. Fukuchi orders Akutagawa to takes Jōno away. Meanwhile, Jōno appears to have secretly been aware of Fukuchi's conspiracy before their fight and tipped Aya Koda earlier, causing her to witness the entire fight. She then tries to expose Fukuchi by taking a photo of him with Bram's coffin as evidence for being the mastermind of the entire terrorism plot. However, her phone camera's flash backfires on her plan, which leads Fukuchi to hunt down the witness nearby.[8]

Ranpo remains assertive of their success but is also apprehensive should Fyodor likewise make his move to disrupt their strategy.[10]

Amidst this unease, the British Intelligence agents suddenly bleed out and eventually got killed, compelling Tetchō to take down the plane and let Fukuchi retrieve One Order from the wreckage.[10] Ranpo feels bested by Fyodor and feels that they would have lost One Order if they make the next wrong move. Fukuchi tries opening the box containing One Order it is sealed shut, courtesy of Ango's interference per Dazai's plan, which is to allow the United Nations to unlock One Order only when the vampire armies strike.[11]
