Here's to the New Year (今年もよろしくお願いします, Kotoshi mo yoroshiku onegaishimasu?) is the 37th chapter of the Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! manga.

Summary[]

As Atsushi and Dazai welcome the new year, Atsushi greets Kunikida, who wishes for a peaceful day in the new year. Right after saying his wish, Dazai asks him to give him a new year envelope, much to Kunikida's annoyance.

They note that Kyōka has received a new year envelope from the President, since she is his "granddaughter". Following the trend that they are Kyōka's senpai, Dazai anticipates receiving a new year envelope from the President, making Atsushi worry for Fukuzawa. Atsushi admits that he is fine not receiving an envelope, so Dazai perceives him as his senpai and asks for Atsushi's new year envelope.

In the Port Mafia base, Motojirō creates a lemon stand and dedicates it to the universe, annoying Chūya. Mori later orders Chūya, Akutagawa, and Higuchi to send a fresh salmon to the Agency as a New Year greeting and as recompense for "troubling" them.

Along their way, Chūya irritatingly notes Mori's soft spot for Dazai. Amidst the awkwardness, Higuchi suggests they go on hatsumōde and have some sweet sake afterwards, but Chūya blatantly refuses. Akutagawa then perceives their order as a good omen for allowing him to see Dazai early in the year.

As Chūya arrives at the Agency office, he finds Dazai bugging Atsushi for his new year envelope. Atsushi then asks Chūya to give Dazai his new year envelope, greatly angering Chūya.

Trivia[]

  • This chapter is one of two Wan! chapters with a running gag of Fukuzawa being Kyōka's grandfather, which is a reference to the manga when the President once told Minoura and his subordinate that Kyōka is his granddaughter to avert any suspicions on her by the police.
